In the spirit of continuing to give back to the community, Riverside Dental Ceramics was proud to participate in the annual Coachella Valley Healthcare Clinic once again this year. Our practitioners and technicians attended the event to offer attendees a variety of dental care services, free of charge.
It was quite a busy Saturday for our RDC team, but they were more than up for the challenge.
The event was hosted, as it is every year, by California CareForce. Together with Drs. Peter Scheer, Daniel Nam and their teams, RDC saw as many patients as they could in the time they had.
Our RDC crew left attendees grinning with confidence.
It was a long, busy day. Yet it was also a rewarding experience for our RDC team, many of whom woke up around 4:45 a.m. on a Saturday and traveled up to two hours to the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, CA with the goal of helping local attendees with their dental needs.
Restored smiles gave patients a new lease on life.
In addition to routine cleanings, our focus was on treating people’s most pressing oral health issues. This included extractions and removable flippers on-site for those who had suffered without their natural teeth.
The transformation for many was dramatic.
Over the course of ten years of participation in the event, our RDC technicians have gotten increasingly adept at producing quality, esthetic appliances that require minimal adjustment before the patient leaves their chair with a radiant, renewed smile.
With a decade of experience attending the event, our team was able to craft esthetic removable appliances quickly enough to meet the needs of every attendee.
In all, we treated 24 patients and fitted 29 flippers. Numerous people were left in tears after looking in the mirror for the first time with their renewed dentition. Many had lived with missing teeth for at least a decade or so. One attendee had struggled without any anterior teeth for 22 years!
It was an emotional experience for many, especially those who had been living without some of their teeth for decades.
For RDC Regional Manager Lee Palacio, it’s always gratifying to see his coworkers at RDC working together for a great cause. “I think what’s really important is how events like this make us stronger as a team,” he said, reflecting on the day.
The team posed for a group photo after a job well done.
Itzel Armenta, the general manager of RDC, echoed that sentiment: “We’re not just a team; we’ve known each other for over 20 years. We’re almost a family. It was a great experience and knowing that you’re changing someone’s life with just a smile, it’s an amazing feeling.”
Our RDC Team is like one big family.
Telemundo was also there, and they interviewed one of our very own technicians, José Sanchez: “It was awesome to see the kind of coverage the clinic was getting, and it was an honor to get the chance to talk with their team about why we were there.”

As it is every year, the event was a resounding success that gave attendees a reason to smile and provided a new lease on life to many who presented with significant oral health issues. Thank you once again to CaliforniaCare Force for organizing another life-changing clinic, and a special thank you to Drs. Daniel Nam, Peter Scheer and their teams for all their hard work. Our team here at RDC looks forward to participating again next year!
